  1. Ex-Students of our department frequently visit to the department to get guidance for the future courses and carrier.

Department Highlights:

  1. We have Polyhouse in which different rare orchids (3), medicinal plants (15), Begonias (3) and more than 125 horticultural plants are conserved.
  2. To conserve the rare plants is one of important objective of botany with this view, we have planted and conserved very rare and endemic plants like, Baringtonia acutangula,Gart. Adansonia digitata,L. Bixa orellana,L. Couroupita guianensis,Aubl. Cinnamomum camphora, L. Kijelia pinata,DC,. Dillenia indica,L Tylophora indica, L. Putranjiva roxburghii, Baringtonia speceosa in our campus.
  3. Our average result is 95.19% which is more than University average results (91.57%).
  4. Faculty members from my department give additional guidance to the students, due to which from last three years our students have obtained ranks in University merit list.
  5. Our department runs plant protection as an interdisciplinary subject.
  6. We give projects and horticultural term papers to plant protection and B.Sc. II students.
  7. The faculty members motivate the students to participate in different extra curricular activities due to which our students obtained prizes in different
    events.
  8. Dr. P.B. Kale is the co-author for the book entitled “Hand of practical Botany” for B.Sc. II.
  9. Faculty members from my department have attended 35 workshops/seminars.
  10. We use models, specimens, charts, OHP and computer C.D. as a teaching aids.
  11. We give projects and horticultural term papers to plant protection and B.Sc. II students.
  12. To know natural habit and habitats of plants. Our department arranges study tours for all students at different places.
  13. In order to increase subject knowledge and stage daring of students our department has organized seminars for B.Sc. III students.
  14. Implemented 100 % UGC Syllabus includes Molecular Biology, Genetic & Biochemistry.
