Welcome to Vivekanand College, an institution of academic excellence and achievement.  It is one of the best colleges in Maharashtra. It has moulded the destiny of hundreds of students for a better tomorrow.

It is wonderful to look back at the last few years, at Vivekanand College, when there is so much to feel proud of and so much to celebrate.  Last few years have been extremely successful and satisfying in terms of academics, sports and culture. The college has been topping the university in the field of academics for the last 18 years by obtaining maximum number of merit scholarships. The college has a tradition of excelling in sports and extra-curricular activities, in which our students continue to bring us laurels at the University, Zonal, National  and International levels year after year. The college has been identified twice as College with Potential for Excellence by U.G.C. New Delhi. It is included in the scheme of Star College by DBT, Govt. of India. It is reaccredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC, Banglore.

I feel proud to acknowledge the contribution of our highly qualified, dynamic and multi-talented faculty, non-teaching staff and my students for this. We strive  to move ahead for producing and maintaining the best. We believe that acquiring information is no longer the main focus of education, instead the main aim of education is to build the process of human mind and spirit. We provide our students an environment, rich in knowledge and supportive for their physical, mental, social, emotional and intellectual development.

It is a great landmark in the history of the college that it has been declared as an autonomous college from the academic year 2018-19 by U.G.C. New Delhi. Autonomy is a great responsibility vested in us  to take the college to further heights. With autonomous status given to us we could design the curriculum for the holistic development of the students.  It is an opportunity to tap the full potential of the college for the internal development of  the students.

I am happy to note that the management of the college has clear and proper vision and is constantly equipping the college to attain the vision and mission of the college.  I am sure, with the motto of Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe and under the able guidance of our visionary Chairman , Prin. Abhaykumar Salukhe and Secretary Prin. Mrs. Shubhangi Gawade, the autonomy will help us to produce more and more outstanding cultured students in all walks of life. We strongly believe that – “Quality is never an accident it is always the result of high intention, sincere efforts, intelligent direction and skillful execution”.
